Final Days and Final Rankings
Wow, I can’t below how fast this month has gone.
Churches
July 28th
The only church I saw that day was Saint-Eustache, where I went to Mass. You can read about that here.
July 29th
When walking in the Latin Quarter right after the scavenger hunt, I decided to take a picture of Saint-Séverin, as despite walking by it so often and even going to Mass there, I didn’t have a good picture of the front facacde.
Then, my group got creams puffs at Odette and eat them while looking at this amazing view of Notre-Dame and Saint-Julien. I think this shows how close these two churches are, and how close Saint-Séverin is as well to these, as that church is right across the street. It’s interesting how close these 3 churches are to each other.

Chocolate
July 28th
At the late lunch/early dinner my family and I had at Café des officiers, I got chocolate fondant for dessert. Now, unlike others I’ve had in France, this is a proper lava cake!
The inside was nice and liquid, and spilled out when the cake was cut, as it should! The liquid chocolate was a bit sweet, but the cream helped to cut through it. I would definitely order it again.
July 29th
At Le Lithographe, I got a hot chocolate as my drink. It was quite good. Unlike hot chocolate in the US, it wasn’t very sweet. In fact, it actually came with sugar you could put in if you want. If have never seen that at a restaurant in the US!
After my group stopped the scavenger hunt, we went to Odette and got cream puffs, sitting in the room upstairs in the restaurant. I got a chocolate cream puff, which was as good as the first one I had. It was nice and rich, with a smooth creamy interior contrasting with the nice, crunchy exterior. Also, look at the view. A nice cream puff and 2 beautiful old churches. What could be a better snack?
At the MICEFA dinner at Chez Papa, I got the chocolate mousse for dessert. It was pretty good. It had a nice flavor and was smooth. It didn’t wow me but I would get it again.
July 30th
I had some Nutella at the farewell picnic. I also ate more of my LINDT store chocolate.
Cheese
July 28th
I didn’t have any cheese this day, unfortunately
July 29th
At the MICEFA farewell dinner, I got the salade au chevre chaud (warm chevre/goat cheese salad) as my appetizer. I quite enjoyed it! Chevre is my favorite type of cheese, and warm chevre is the best! The bread it came with was a bit too crunchy for my taste (I was worried that it would break a tooth!) so I had to tear and eat the bread instead of just biting it.
For my main course, I got the cheeseburger. It was also quite good! The cheese was cheddar, which I always would get for a cheeseburger anyway. Not very French, though! I even liked this cheeseburger though it had some ketchup on it (which I did admittedly try and scrape off the best I could), so I think that says something about the burger.

At the farewell picnic, I started off with some lovely cheese and baguette. Not entirely sure what type of cheese, but it was a nice way to end the trip.
Here’s another picture of the picnic. I didn’t take any more than just this one. I just wanted to spend time in the moment and enjoy everything, instead of worrying about pictures.
I’m going to miss Paris, with all its beautiful buildings and great food. It’s going to be weird not waking up and hopping on the metro every day, speeding around Paris. It’s also going to be weird not seeing everybody. I’m going to miss this class. I’m so, so glad that I was able to go on this trip.

Of course, these are all opinions (hence “favorite” instead of “best”)

Notre-Dame: This church just gets its own spot. I mean-it’s the Notre-Dame. It deserves it.
**As I said in my post about going to Mass, the Notre-Dame could take this spot, but I would have to go inside first. So, as of right now, of the churches I’ve been inside, Saint-Eustache has been my favorite
